Hilary Ramsden is a clown, activist, teacher and researcher.
Being part of the acclaimed lesbian-feminist Siren Theatre Company from 1984-89 laid the foundations for a subversive and innovative performance career spanning 35 years which she continues to develop.
In 1992 she co-founded Walk & Squawk with Erika Block and moved to Southeastern Michigan. Over 14 years the company created performances, workshops, events, installations and expanded their ideas of theatre into neighbourhoods, streets and fields far beyond the studio.
She was Senior Lecturer in Performance, Theatre & Drama at the University of South Wales for 7 years and left in September 2021 to continue her path as clown and activist, performing, teaching and researching internationally and in collaboration with other wonderful, radical clowns.
